To Do
Historic Crab Orchard Museum & Pioneer Park, Located
in Tazewell between Bluefield and Abingdon, featuring a significant
collection of Native American and early settler artifacts, with
permanent exhibits on early maps, animals of the region, fossils,
Revolutionary War, farm heritage, the Civil War, 1900s industry,
and Appalachian culture. Fourteen log buildings from the 1800s
depict life on the frontier. Gift shop with distinctive items
related to area history, books and handmade regional crafts.
Guided group tours available on Pioneer Life, the Revolutionary
War and Native Americans. Admission charged. Discounts for AARP
or AAA members and visitors over 60. Open M-F 9 -5 all year,
Saturdays 9-5 April - December, Sundays 1-5 Memorial Day - Labor
