Grayson Highlands State Park is known for the beautiful views and cool temperatures. This mountain park is next to the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area in the Jefferson National Forest. Grayson Highlands also provides access to the Appalachian Trail (AT), hence backpacking is a popular activity. If you are lucky you may even get to see the wild ponies too. It has hiking, biking and bridle trails.
